This course is presented in a variety of
media: video tape, on-line streaming audio, Adobe Acrobat, and World Wide Web format using
some Java, JavaScript, and frames. In order to get the most out of the course, we
recommend that students spend time getting their equipment updated and learning to use it
comfortably before the course begins.
Students must have or have access to: a VCR, a personal computer (Power
Mac or 486+) with a sound card, a local dial-up Internet access account (ISP)*, Netscape
or Internet Explorer 3.0+, and a modem (56k or faster). Students will also be asked
to download the free audio product RealPlayer, and will be given a copy of Adobe Acrobat
Reader.
*We recommend using a service provider other than America On-Line, as it
doesn't interact well with some of the technology that we employ. |
